4.2 Assumption of Kruskal-Wallis Test

The following are some of the assumptions made on the Kruskal-Wallis test:

1.
the \(k\)-samples are randomly and independently selected from their
respective populations.
2.
the underlined variable is continuous.
3.
the data provide at least a set of ranks, both within and among the \(k\)-samples.
4.
the \(k\) populations give the same variability.
5.
the \(k\) populations give the same shape.
